Description
Location. Set in a leafy residential area six kilometres west of central Rome, the Aurelia Antica offers modern rooms and apartments next to Villa Doria Pamphili park. The nearest airport is Rome Fiumicino (FCO), 22 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. Guests enter through a gate to reach Aurelia Antica Suites and Apartments. The lobby walls are constructed with 'opus reticulatum' replicas of the hand made bricks used to build much of ancient Rome and large paintings depicting scenes of ancient Rome hang behind cushioned bamboo sofas and chairs.
Continental buffet breakfast is served amid the cool white linens of the Aurelia Antica's breakfast room. Guests can relax with a book in the hotel's gardens, surrounded by lawns, flowerbeds, and trees.
The 60 square metre swimming pool is open during the summer months, and there are four clay tennis courts on site (surcharge). A full service spa is located next door to the residence and offers a 50 per cent discount on some treatments, and free parking is provided on site.
Guestrooms. The Aurelia Antica has 50 rooms and apartments spread over five floors. White walls give bedrooms a bright, airy feel and contrast with dark wall to wall carpeting and brass bedsteads. Rooms open onto furnished terraces or balconies overlooking the swimming pool, tennis courts, and garden. Apartments have separate lounge and dining areas with wooden floors. All rooms are air conditioned, and include refrigerators and televisions; kitchenettes can also be used for a surcharge.
Expert Tip. The Villa Doria Pamphili park next to the residence is the largest park in Rome. The street Via Leone XIII was opened for the 1960 Olympic Games and divides the park's 184 hectares into two sections: the east comprises historical monuments, statues, and fountains while the west offers a wild, natural environment for joggers and walkers.

DirectionsTrains depart Fiumicino Airport every 30 minutes to Rome's Termini Station (journey time 58 minutes). Tickets must be purchased at the airport before boarding the train. Take the Leonardo Express (EUR 9) from Fiumicino Airport to Termini Station, then the A metro train to Cornelia station, followed by the 246 bus. Or take the FR1 (EUR 4.50) from Fiumicino Airport then transfer at Trastevere station to the FM5 train to Aurelia station, followed by the 247 bus. A taxi from the airport to the hotel costs approximately EUR 55. All prices are subject to change.
Driving directions: From the airport take the Grande Raccordo Anulare (GRA) towards Aurelia then take the Aurelia exit and go toward Roma centro, continue on Via Aurelia, and the hotel is on the right.
