Description
Location.Housed in an old palace in the historic centre of Rome, Hotel Galatea is set just 300 metres from Termini Station and 350 metres from the Trevi Fountain. Rome Fiumicino Airport is located 30 kilometres away, a 35 minute drive.
Hotel Features.Guests can start the day in the bright breakfast room, and staff at the 24 hour front desk can organise sightseeing excursions and book transport to and from the airport. Practical amenities at Hotel Galatea include on site parking, room service and an elevator.
Guestrooms. The 17 guestrooms, over one floor, have colour coordinated decor with light wood furnishings. All include balconies, cable television, direct dial phones, air conditioning and shower/tub combinations.
Expert Tip. The Coliseum, possibly Rome's most famous monument, was begun in AD 72 and featured bloody gladiatorial combat. The Spanish Steps lead up to the church of Trinita dei Monti, and are a great place to people watch.

DirectionsGetting there. There is an express train service every 30 minutes to Rome's Termini train station (journey time 30 minutes). A single ticket costs around 10 EUR. The hotel is located 300 metres from Termini Station. Taxis are readily available at the airport, but take a licensed metered taxi only. An airport surcharge is payable. A taxi to the hotel will cost 45 55 EUR. Rome's efficient integrated transportation system includes buses, trams, subway (Metro) and suburban trains. Tickets should be bought before boarding and are available from ATAC ticket machines and all tobacconists. A single ticket (BIT) costs 1 EUR, is valid for 75 minutes, and covers unlimited bus journeys and one metro trip. The historic city centre is easily negotiated on foot. Driving is not recommended for visitors.
Driving directions. From the airport take the highway in the direction of Rome. Exit towards Rome centre and follow directions to the Coliseum Termini Station Piazza della Repubblica Via Nazionale. The forth street on the left is Via Genova.
